No, it’s not a spelling mistake; I am now including Movies of the Day (MOD’s)…
This was a little trailer I put together after Hotshots 19 yesterday morning at CrossFit Mitchelton. This ‘Memorial/Hero’ WOD is dedicated to the Firefighters who lost their lives on 30 Jun 13 while fighting a fire in Yarnell, Arizona. The fire was ignited by a lightning strike and overran and killed 19 Firefighters with the Prescott Fire Department’s interagency Granite Mountain Hotshots. It took 10 days for the fire to be contained. Those that died were:
4 x shoots in as many days… All as amazing experience as the other:
1st was the lean, mean and hysterical Sally Brouwer… Then the elite team at Gym Cartel… Followed by the slick Raiders Allstars Netball Team… And to top it all off, my favourite event of the year – The Million Paws Walk – in support of my favourite charity of all time; RSPCA Qld.
I recently did a shoot with one of the fittest ladies I know… This woman is so lean, she makes a Greyhound look chubby, and can back it up in the strength department!
Sally Brouwer is a SGT in the Queensland Police Service (QPS Operational Skills and Tactics Instructor), PT / Group Fitness Instructor at CBJ Fitness, Triathlete, Mum to triplets and just an all round #badass (she says she is an all round nice person)!!! For women (and fellas too) who are based on South-side Brisbane (or are prepared to venture into that strange part of town) and want quality training and advice from someone who practices what they preach, look this lady up!
Sally is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to training, nutrition, health and wellness and if you aren’t following her on Facebook, you should be …>>HERE<<… And, on Instagram …>>HERE<<…
Be on the look out for Sal’s new ‘Nutrition Philosophy’ website, being launched very soon (and if she likes her shots, hopefully they may make an appearance too)!!!
I am honoured and excited to be photographing Kawana Boxing Club’s first Fight Night, this coming Friday night. A good mate of mine (Troy McGaughran) has poured his heart and soul into building the club and community that train and fight out of it, including his sons, Josh and Bailey (both trained by their Dad)… Both these boys are Nationally awarded and recognised Junior fighters; Josh (pictured in training below) very recently destroyed the field to earn himself the title of Australian Junior Champ, and his little bro Bailey won QLD Junior Boxer of the Year 2012. Watch this space for the images of what is shaping up to be a magic night of talented fighters doing battle! Nice work Goffo, and thank you for the opportunity to shoot this event!
